Bachelor of Built Environment in Construction Management

KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) with C+ (Plus) in Maths A, Physics and English/Kiswahili together with 2nd GROUP II or 2nd GROUP III or any GROUP IV or any GROUP

Diploma  in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building, Architecture , Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification approved by the TU-K University senate

4 Academic years

Working as Construction Managers in government and nongovernmental organizations dealing with construction developments, institutions dealing with Building research and advocacy, all county governments, development partners, construction firms, Banking sector, Oil sector and private practice amongst others.

Bachelor of Philosophy in Technology (Construction Management)

Higher Diploma in Construction of the Kenya National Examinations Council or an equivalent qualification approved by the University senate. Applicants shall have at least two years relevant work experience.

2 Academic years

All government and non-governmental organizations dealing with construction developments, institutions dealing with Building research and advocacy, all county governments, development partners, construction firms, Banking sector, Oil sector and private practice amongst others.

Master of Construction Project Management

At least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelor’s degree of TU-K in the relevant field, or equivalent from a university recognised by the Senate of TU-K OR • A holder of a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) Bachelor’s degree of TU-K in the relevant field, or equivalent from another university recognized by the Senate of TU-K with either at least two (2) years of relevant experience OR a relevant postgraduate diploma/certificate and one (1) year of relevant work experience.

2 Academic years

All government and non-governmental organizations dealing with construction developments, institutions dealing with Building research and advocacy, all county governments, development partners, construction firms, Banking sector, Oil sector, private practice, Teaching in Universities amongst others amongst others.

Doctor of Philosophy in Construction Project Management

A holder of a Master’s degree in Construction Project Management or related area, from TU-K or any other institution accepted and recognised by Senate, or

 • A holder of a relevant Master’s degree of Technical University of Kenya or of any other institution recognised by Senate

• A holder of a relevant Bachelor’s degree of TU-K or from any other university recognised by the Senate of TU-K

+ Property and rating valuation
+ Lands officers at the Ministry of Lands and planning.
+ Estates and facilities managers
+ Land administration and management for national/counties/ parastatals-private sector e.g. banking investment sectors. +Researchers in private firms- national and county governments amongst others.

Diploma in Technology(Real Estate)

KCSE  Mean grade C(plain) together with C(plain)in Mathematics, English/Kiswahili and a pass in any group Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Accounts/Commerce/Economics and Group III/IV/V

3 academic years

Work as:
+Property valuation assistants.
+Estate / facilities and property management assistants in private firms. +Assistants in property rates sections (county government) and Lands Officers (ministry of lands and counties) and related bodies.

Masters of Real Estate Finance and Investment(MREIF)

+A holder of at least a Second Class (Upper Division) honours, Bachelor’s degree of TU-K;
or equivalent from another university recognized by the Senate.
+A holder of a Second Class (Lower Division) honours Bachelor’s degree of TU-K, or
equivalent from another university recognized by Senate with at least two (2) years of
relevant industry experience.
+A candidate who has obtained a degree or equivalent qualification from other institutions
recognized by Postgraduate Studies Committee (PSC) and Senate as of comparable academics status.

2 academic years

Work as:
+Investment Appraisers/ Value and Risk Assessors
+Financial and investments advisors.
+Advanced valuations of natural resources, buildings, plant and machinery.
+ Researchers in the built environment /real property and related fields.
+Teaching at universities and tertiary institutions and for the Real property professional bodies (ISK, Estate agents Board amongst others).

Doctor of Philosophy in Real Estate

+Holders of a Master’s in Real Estate investment and Finance; Valuation and Property Management, Urban Design and Planning
+Holder of any other  relevant master’s degree of Technical University of Kenya
+Holder of a relevant master’s degree from other institution accepted and recognised by Senate.

3 academic years

Work as:
+Lead researchers and professionals in real property sector- banks, real property investments and industry for national and county governments, research oriented institutions amongst others.
+Contribute to debates in the built environment field in international fora.
+Design models and drive innovation to address emerging myriad and complex problems.

• Employed in the building construction industry, Banking sector, Oil sector, Teaching and research.
• Self-employment in areas such as contractors,
• Offer consultancy services in building construction technologies, design and maintenance services among other areas.

KNEC Diploma with a minimum Credit Pass in Building Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering.

Diploma in Technology with a Credit pass from TUK.
